Building the rubble and testing the animation.
Rubble
When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, I began work on a short video to express my support of the people of Ukraine. Taking their national flower, the sunflower, as a symbol of their freedom and democracy, I then created a few versions of a 3d animation showing the flower rise up out of the rubble, undaunted.
Working out the scene in Cinema4D on my HPZ820 workstation.
Scene
I decided to shift to a darker environment to make the effect of the flower rising more dramatic.

Animation
Once the animation was complete I made several different output files for different venues and aspect ratios and published them on Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok. The video was in an online gallery show, Anti-War 2024, January-February, 2024.
